We got a letter from Suffolk County today telling us my wife violated section something-or-other of the NY traffic law, complete with pictures and instructions on where to go to view a video of the violation. You’d think of all people, we’d know which intersections to behave at!
Turns out it happened when she was following me to an appointment, I was driving right in front of her as we made a right on red at the intersection of the LIE and Old Nichols Road, I don’t remember noticing the ‘No Turn on Red’ sign. The website where we can view the video gave some additional details:
- The light was yellow for 3.5 seconds
- My wife drove through it .2 seconds after it turned red
- The violation took place on 1/13/11 and today is 1/27/11 so it took around 2 weeks to get the ticket
The fine is $50.00 and puts no points on her license, so like everyone else we’re just going to pay it and forget about it. Interestingly, the mailing address where we send the ticket is in Denver Colorado.
Here are some pictures, I blacked out any personal info. She’s in the silver Corolla, I’m in front of her in the blue Mustang.
