Suffolk County also released a video compilation showing a bunch of people blowing lights, some leading to accidents. The majority of clips show cars going through the light right after it turned, meaning the drivers probably knew the light was turning and tried to beat the yellow. One of the accident clips shows a driver who clearly wasn’t paying attention and blew through a solid red light and got T-boned. Another accident clip shows a truck attempting to make a right turn from the middle lane and hitting a car in the right-lane. Anyway here’s the video, see for yourself:

Shocking to see the number of school bus drivers blowing off red lights. In those circumstances, those drivers should be fired and banned for life from ever driving another bus. Their cargo is too precious to trust them to reform.
I agree, that’s definitely a situation where there’s no reason to be lenient. I assume busing companies have their own disciplinary action they take if a driver gets a ticket, but I don’t know how strict they are.
