A few of you sent in some new Suffolk County red light cameras over the past few days – here’s the list:
- Manorville: Wading River Road and South Street
- Mastic Beach: Mastic Road and Wavecrest Drive
- Mastic Beach: Neighborhood Road and Commack Road
- Copiague: Sunrise Highway and N. Monroe Avenue
- Copiague: Sunrise Highway and N. Delaware Avenue
I’m sure there are more that I don’t have, so keep ‘em coming!
The cameras at Wading River Rd & South St in Manorville are not red light cameras. They control the traffic signal.
The cameras at Long Island Ave and Blue Point Rd in Holtsville, Wading River Rd and South St in Manorville, Mastic Rd and Wavecrest Dr in Mastic Beach and Neighborhood Rd and Commack Rd in Mastic Beach are not red light cameras. They control the traffic signal.

If you know more about it can you let me know the difference between the red light cameras and the traffic control signals? If I had to guess I’d say the rectangular cameras that come without a flash are for traffic control, and the circular ones that are usually mounted on white poles with a flash are red light cameras. I’ll see if I can dig up a few pictures to make it more clear. In the meantime if you have any more deetails please let me know!
